Durkan had outgrown their existing office in Waltham Cross, where their lease was coming to an end and their Landlord was looking to convert the building to residential. Durkan therefore needed to secure alternative, larger office premises within the South Herts or north London area.
sbh Page & Read were instructed by Durkan to undertake a search of the office market to identify a suitable self-contained building with ample on site car parking, on a freehold or leasehold basis. The building needed to be accessible to staff and clients by both car and public transport.
sbh Page & Read identified a self-contained 2 storey building of 20,000 sq ft at 4 Elstree Gate, Borehamwood. The building provided efficient floor plates and offered a strong corporate image with excellent on site parking within walking distance of Elstree and Borehamwood Station.
sbh Page & Read negotiated lease terms including an attractive rent free period, as well as a capital contribution towards the refurbishment of the building.
Durkan Group has relocated all their businesses to the new building and are now reaping the benefits of a much improved working environment.
